The ABS-CBN Film Restoration and Rockwell sealed a special partnership which aims to show the local classic films to the younger generation in High Definition format.
Thus, eight of the local classic films that were digitally restored and re-mastered by the ABS-CBN Film Restoration will have a special theatrical run at the Rockwell Cinema 5 through the film exhibit titled “ReeLive the Classics” from August 26 to September 1.
The films are “Sana Maulit Muli,” “Sarah Ang Munting Prinsesa,” “One More Chance,” “Oro Plata Mata,” “Karnal,” T-Bird at Ako,” “Hindi Nahahati ang Langit,” “Got To Believe,” and “Tanging Yaman.”
“We are very happy to partner with Rockwell who has shown faith in our efforts. Our special screenings at Rockwell will allow audiences to enjoy the movies as the creators envisioned them,” said Leo Katigbak, head of the ABS-CBN Film Restoration during their press conference held August 18. “Hopefully this is just the start of more exhibitions.”
The ABS-CBN Film Restoration started restoring classic films since 2011 together with the Central Digital Lab.
Their collaborative effort have already rescued and given life to 100 films, some of them some have been screened in local theaters, some were distributed in DVD format, and some of them are now downloadable on iTunes.
