MANILA - Jam Sebastian, one half of the popular YouTube tandem Jamich, will be laid to rest on March 8 at the Manila Memorial in Parañaque City, his mother said Friday.
The 28-year-old passed away on Wednesday morning, months after he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He was 28.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Thursday, Maricar Sebastian fought tears. She said her son did not deserve to die the way he did.
"Hindi niya kasi deserve 'yung namatay siya na naghirap. Okay lang sana kung namatay siya ng hindi man lang nagbago 'yung mukha niya. 'Yung sobrang pinahirapan siya, yun ang hindi ko ma-take," she said.
The older Sebastian also revealed that doctors failed to pinpoint the exact cause of her son's lung cancer.
She speculated, however, that it might have been second-hand smoke.
"Kasi mayroon siyang two days na nasa casino na walang uwian. Hindi ko alam iyon. That time akala ko nasa bahay lang siya ng girlfriend niya," she said.
Asked about her message to her son should she be given the chance to speak with him again, she said: "Ngayon masaya ka na kasi wala ng pain, wala ng depression, kasama mo na si Lord.
"Mami-miss ko siya ng sobra. Sabi ko nga, ikaw na ang magiging guardian angel namin. Lagi mo kaming i-guide."
