“Studying in Boston for 7th grade, we took a field trip to New York by bus, 3 hours away. I remember seeing the U.N. Headquarters for the first time & seeing so many flags waving in thé air. I thought, one day, I'm coming back here. And exactly 10 years later, at 22, my dream came true through the U.N. World Food Programme (W.F.P.) to be surrounded by real-life heroes is humbling, empowering, inspiring. Thank you #TOFA for recognizing our efforts to fight for #ZeroHunger everyday of our lives. #AboutLastNight #GlobalFilipino #NYC @carysantiago,” she said.
The other 2015 TOFA-NY awardees are Katrina Saporsantos, John Gadia, Steven Raga, Mark Bustos, Dr. Kevin Nadal, Gail Banawis, Betina Ocampo, Nicole Ponseca, Dr. Richard Holsman, Chelle Lhuillier, Makilala TV, Commissioner Carmelyn Malalis, PAGASA Social Foundation, Inc, and Councilmember Jonathan Wong.
