Kapamilya star Kathryn Bernardo admitted that there are times when she wishes she could be like any “normal” 19-year-old girl.
In fact, the “Pangako sa ‘Yo” star revealed that she and her non-showbiz friends talk about switching lives for a day.
“Like Hannah Montana, where I can be a normal girl by day and a movie star by night,” she said in an interview with the local teen magazine Candy. “Sometimes I wish that people can see me as the normal Kathryn. Ang dami mong pwedeng gawin ‘pag normal ka. Pwede kang lumabas. You can take a picture and no one will judge you. Ang dami kasing walls kapag artista ka.”
Bernardo, who appears on the cover of the November 2015 issue of Candy, said she hopes to go on an adventure before she turns 20.
“I want to go on a road trip with friends and go to random places. Whether scary place siya or sobrang daming tao, game lang! I just want an unplanned adventure,” she said.
“I feel like this is the right time. I’m 19 already. Hindi na ako masyadong bata at paalis na ako sa pagiging teen. Gusto kong masabi na nagawa ko lahat while in my teen years,” she added.
Bernardo said, however, that she also understands the demands of her profession as an actress.
“I have a full schedule on my calendar at may mga kailangan akong sundan. Once I miss one thing, it creates a domino effect,” she explained.
When asked about her favorite thing about being an actress, Bernardo replied: “Mas nagiging aware ako sa mga bagay kahit bata pa ako. Mas maaga akong naging mature compared to non-showbiz teenagers.”
“Sa aming mga artista, may mga responsibilities and challenges na once you overcome them, ang sarap ng feeling. The problems I deal with aren’t high school problems so I had to grow up faster than usual, which is okay. Part of growing up, especially in this age of social media, is dealing with haters.”
