“The Voice” Season 2 finalist Daryl Ong shares what sets him apart from other equally-talented artists during the press conference of his self-titled album last November 13.
“The one thing I can do to be able to stand out sa matinding competition na ‘yun, more of ang goal ko... is to inspire people and to touch them dun sa songs kasi for me as a listener, sobrang hindi ako maka-get over sa isang artist kung nasapul niya ‘yung puso ko eh,” he says.
As proof of his passion and artistry, Daryl also puts himself in a listener’s shoes.
“Kahit marami pa siyang (artist) ka-kumpitensya, as long as may narinig akong something sa kanta niya na [na-touch] ako, for me siya ang nagsa-stand out,” he explains. “So for me instead na makipag-compete ako sa ibang artists, I’ll try to compete with myself on how to improve ‘yung way ko ng pag-deliver ng song para ma-touch ang puso ng bawat nakikinig sa akin.”
Daryl’s self-titled album, produced by Star Music, has 11 tracks which includes his rendition of Willie Revillame’s songs "S’yempre” and “Ikaw Na Nga," the theme song of the primetime series “Bridges of Love.”
The album is now available in record stores nationwide.
