Erik Santos made his way to the top owning the title "Prince of Pop" and "King of Theme Songs" after being able to sing more than 40 TV and film theme songs.
When asked about how love for singing started for him, he shared to us exclusively, "Sabi nung nanay ko, as early as four years old, kumakanta na daw ako. I think doon na nag-start talaga 'yung passion ko when it comes to singing.
The 33 year-old singer also revealed that it was his father who inspired him to pursue a singing career.
"'Yung father ko kasi mahilig siyang kumanta nung hindi pa uso 'yung [mga] videoke noon,
" he said.
After being in the industry for more than 10 ten years, Erik was also able record 10 albums, with "Champion Reborn" as his latest under Star Music.
Notwithstanding Erik's success in the industry, he still remains humble.
When asked about how he feels to be tagged as the "King of Theme Songs," Erik said, "More than the title, it's really the priviledge of having more than 40 theme songs. 'Yung kumabaga parte ka ng bawat teleserye at pelikula na napapanood ng pamilyang Pilipino sa araw-araw nilang buhay. So sobrang akong grateful.
Some of Erik's famous TV theme songs are "It Might Be You," "Maging Sino Ka Man," "May Bukas Pa," and "Say You'll Never Go."
Erik also sang the theme song of "Now That I Have You" (the song is of the same title) in 2004, followed by "I'll Never Go" for the 2007 movie "One More Chance." Both films star John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo.
Will Erik sing "I'll Never Go" for the upcoming sequel of "One More Chance," "A Second Chance?"
Helmed by the box-office director Cathy Garcia-Molina, "A Second Chance" will hit cinemas this November 25!
