Local celebrities expressed their sympathy to the 44 police commandos killed in an anti-terror raid in Mamasapano, Maguindanao as the Philippines observes today, Jan. 30, the National Day of Mourning as per President Benigno Aquino III’s proclamation last Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Kapamilya stars posted photos regarding the National Day of Mourning via Instagram including “It’s Showtime” hosts Billy Crawford (@billyjoecrawford) and Vhong Navarro (@vhongx44).
Billy posted a photo of the arrival ceremony of the Fallen 44 which he captioned, “To our Fallen 44. You lived as LEADERS and died as HEROES. Prayers for your families.”
Princess of All Media Anne Curtis (@annecurtissmith) also shared the same photo encouraging the people to pray for the families that lost someone on that tragic day.
Meanwhile, Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga (@celestinegonzaga) shared a photo of a black ribbon with the logo of the Philippine National Police alongside with a Bible verse.
Presidential sister Kris Aquino (@beingkrisaquino) also expressed her deepest sympathy via her Instagram post to the families of the fallen policemen through a mass celebrated by her friend Fr. Jerry Manlangit.
On the other hand, Richard Gomez (@richardgomezinstagram) did not just express his condolences to the families of the police commandos but also shared his view regarding Bangsamoro peace talk. Richard wrote, “A very sad day for the police force. So what do we do with the enemy of the state? Forget those peace talks nothing's ever gonna change.”
A necrological service was held at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City a while ago for the Fallen 44.
