#QUOTEFROMTHESTARS: Antoinette Taus chants a curse for Lorna Tolentino

Star Cinema will soon release its latest horror film “Maria Leonora Teresa” which features killer dolls. But did you know that the film outfit has already released a film about possessed dolls?

In 1995, Star Cinema released “Patayin sa Sindak Si Barbara,” helmed by the acclaimed director Chito S. Roño and featured stellar performances from Lorna Tolentino, Antonette Taus, and Dawn Zulueta.

This is one of the most hair-raising conversations from the film:

Barbara: “Alagaan kitang parang tunay na anak
Karen: “Wala kang anak! hindi ka magkakaanak!
    Barbara: “Karen?
Karen: “Mauuna ang apoy tapos ang tubig, magliliyab ang buwan at apoy, masusunog ang lahat, iisa-isahin ang mga may kasalanan, lalamunin ng dilim, mabubuhay tayong lahat sa kadiliman!

“Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara” follows the story of Barbara (Lorna Tolentino) who goes back to the Philippines to mourn for the death of Ruth (Dawn Zulueta), her sister who commit suicide and to tend for her unstable niece Karen (Antoinette Taus).

Barbara realizes the reason behind her sister’s death as latter starts to frighten the whole household, possesses dolls and even her own child.

The 1995 film, topbilled by Lorna Tolentino, Dawn Zulueta, Tonton Gutierrez, and Antoinette Taus, was a remake of the 1974 film starring the veteran actress Susan Roces.

The horror film was also reprised on TV in 2008 starring Susan Roces, Kris Aquino, Jodi Sta. Maria, and Albert Martinez.
