Zanjoe Marudo bares heart on ‘Tapatan Ni Tunying’

Zanjoe Marudo has gone too far from being the 4th Big Placer of the first celebrity edition of “Pinoy Big Brother” back in 2006.

During his eight years in the industry, Zanjoe got to showcase his acting skills particularly in comedy. But apart from that genre, Zanjoe also proved that he could also do dramatic projects either in a gay or straight guy role.

In an interview on “Tapatan Ni Tunying” with Anthony Taberna aired yesterday, September 11, Zanjoe opens up about his family, humble beginnings, career, and his love life.
On his career

Growing up, Zanjoe thought that his career would be in the basketball field. But he shifted gears when he was not included in the team A group of basketball players during his college days.

He then dabbled into ramp modelling but he discovered a wider horizon after his “PBB” stint and became the cast of the sitcom “Aalog Alog” co-starring Kim Chiu and Pokwang.

Pinaka kumportable siguro ako comedy, kasi paglabas ko ng ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ ‘yun agad ‘yung una kong trabaho,” says Zanjoe.”

But when he was tapped to play the challenging role of Julio, one of the lead characters in the horror film “Maria Leonora Teresa” he knew he has to accept the challenge.

He shares that he is glad that was not stuck to playing matinee roles.

On family

The marriage of Zanjoe’s parents fell apart, but instead of being disheartened this taught Zanjoe to look for ways to have a different fate.

He would want to build a family of course with his girlfriend of three years Bea Alonzo.

On his relationship with Bea

Zanjoe admits that their three-year-old relationship was not all about flowers and sunshine. They have differences, which in the beginning caused them to clash, but eventually love and acceptance bridged their differences.

On future

Zanjoe tells his simple dream which is: “Pinapangarap ko nandito parin [sa showbiz], may masayang masayang pamilya, may mga anak na with Bea. Meron na akong sariling sitcom.”
