The former Disney star was all bliss on social media yesterday, September 9, as she confirmed her marriage to musician Christopher French.
“Best day of my life! Introducing Mr and Mrs French Sept 8, 2014,” she wrote on Instagram to caption a photo of the newlyweds adoringly gazing at each other.
The secret ceremony, which took place Monday, is still being kept on the hush-hush as Ashley’s publicist went only as far as confirming the nuptials to the Los Angeles Times saying, “Yes, she got married last night,” holding in all other specifics of the wedding.
One of the couple’s guests was the Ashley’s “High School Musical” co-star and best friend Vanessa Hudgens who stood by the bride and her fellow bridesmaids in another photo posted by Ashley on Instagram.
The couple got engaged in August of 2013 when French proposed atop the Empire State Building in New York City after just eight months of dating.
The actress showed no sign of uncertainty during an interview with Ryan Seacrest a few months after the proposal saying:
“I’ve obviously been in long relationships in the past and stuff. But I think because of knowing what I wanted, I wouldn’t have gone into a relationship if it wasn’t what I wanted. And I think from the moment that him and I met, I just knew it. I was like, ‘Okay, this is the guy,’ and he knew the same thing. It’s just this feeling that, it doesn’t get any better. I just can’t explain it.”
