Veteran actor Mark Gil passed away today, Sept. 1, at 8 a.m., his manager June Rufino confirms.
 
The Eigenmann family will release a statement this afternoon regarding his death, June adds in an ABS-CBN News Report.
 
Earlier this year, it was rumored that Mark had cancer, which was refuted by his son Sid.
 
Mark, 52, hails from the Eigenmann clan as one of the children of actors Eddie Mesa and Rosemarie Gil. Michael de Mesa and Cherie Gil are his siblings.
 
He is also the father of Andi Eigenmann (with Jaclyn Jose), Gabby and Ira Eigenmann (with Irene Celebre), Sid Lucero and Maxene Eigenmann (with Bing Pimentel).
 
Mark turned in a memorable performance as the father of Maja Salvador in the hit drama “The Legal Wife” which concluded earlier this year.
 

He was cast in a number of ABS-CBN shows such as “Mula Sa Puso,” “Sa Puso Ko, Iingatan Ka,” “Saan Ka Man Naroroon,” “Guns and Roses,” “Imortal,” and “Magkaribal.”
