Edu Manzano to undergo stem cell therapy?

In an interview with PEP.PH, host-actor Edu Manzano admits that he considers undergoing stem cell therapy to cure some back injuries, which he obtained after performing stunts in the movies 30 years ago.

“In my case, it’s for my back because of the accidents that I’ve suffered during mga stunts in my 30 years in the movie,” he said.

He also clarifies misconceptions about stem cell therapy as some people look at the procedure as an outlet of vanity. He emphasizes that stem cell therapy can cure serious ailments.

“Actually, people are talking about stem cells now. But there are still misconceptions about stem cells. You know, it’s not always about youth,” he explains. “I’ve seen a friend who had a heart attack. I have a friend who has failing vision, declared legally blind, in-inject talaga sa mata, nakakakita na siya, nagmamaneho na siya.

He adds, “Unlike what people see about stem cell, instead of retaining your youthful look, it actually addresses certain ailments.”

Right now, Edu is practicing a healthy lifestyle which according to him is helping him keep up with his children. He shares how he could catch up with his children’s trips abroad.

Edu has three children Luis, Addie, and Enzo.

“I’m actually very happy now that I’ve adapted a very different lifestyle. “Now, with my children, we can travel together,” he notes. “Next year, magta-travel na naman kami nina Luis at Enzo. Dati-rati, hindi ko sila nasasabayan because they’re 19, 21, and 33. “But now, I’ve become more fit, we went to Istanbul, Lebanon...”

However, when asked to comment about Luis' lovelife with Angel Locsin, Edu chooses not to comment.

He replies: “You know, I think, wala akong karapatang mag-comment sa lovelife ng aking mga anak.

Edu made several classic films with Star Cinema namely “Separada,” “Ama, Ina, Anak,” “I do I die? D'yos Ko Day!,” “Batang PX,” “Minsan, Minahal Kita,” “Tanging Yaman,” and “Ang Tanging Ina.”
