Fil-Am singer rapper-producer apl.de.ap has taken Jessica Reynoso, one of his artists from “The Voice of the Philippines,” under his wing – more specifically in his record label.
“I am excited to announce that Jessica Reynoso from Team Apl -The Voice of The Philippines, is the newest artist to sign with BMBX, my music label,” apl.de.ap’s post on his Facebook page reads.
Jessica is being reintroduced simply as “JR,” as seen in the lyric video for her single “Just Like You” that apl.de.ap posted on Facebook.
“Just Like You” is a slow R&B track that utilizes Jessica’s soulful pipes. It’s a song about going for one’s dreams and name-drops Beyoncé, the late Whitney Houston, Rihanna, and Britney Spears.
Jessica co-wrote the song with music producer Marcus Davis and Australian-Vietnamese singer-songwriter Thanh Bui, among others.
Apl.de.ap launched BMBX (pronounced as “boombox”) Entertainment late last year with manager Audie Vergara. It aims to promote artists from Southeast Asia. Rock band Slapshock was the first artist signed to BMBX.
Meanwhile, aside from her burgeoning record career, Jessica is seen regularly on “The Singing Bee” as part of the Songbees.
