Broadway actress and “The Voice” coach Lea Salonga accepted the “ice bucket challenge” after getting a dare from Urs Buhler of Il Divo. She posted her video on her YouTube account, last August 21. And now she dared her fellow “The Voice of the Philippines" coaches—Sarah Geronimo, Allan "apl.de.ap" Pineda, and Bamboo Manalac to do the same.
Lea, along with other artists around the world who took up the challenge, dedicates the act to everyone who suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
"We have seen what it (ALS) can do and how it can impact a family, so this is why I'm doing this and experiencing temporary discomfort for something very important."
According to Lea, her husband’s uncle named Tommy Lee passed away from ALS “not very long ago.”
"It is out of love for him that we are both doing this," she adds.
She also dared the “Glee” star Darren Criss, and her former loveteam Aga Muhlach to take on the challenge.
The following people that she passed on the dare should record themselves getting drenched with ice cold water within 24 hours of receiving the challenge otherwise donate to the ALS Association in the United States or any association which are specializing on the disease.
Lea, nonetheless, urges everyone to do both—take the “ice bucket challenge” and donate.
