During the Sunday (July 13) episode of “The Voice Kids,” Sarah Geronimo emotionally named her top 2 young contestants from her team - Lyca Gairanod, 9, and Darren Espanto, 13.
Lyca sang the Tagalog version of Luther Vandross’ “Dance With My Father,” while Darren performed Beyonce’s “Listen” during the “Sing offs.”
Before picking Lyca for her sensitivity and Darren for his readiness for the competition, Sarah thanked and at the same time, encouraged the rest of the contestants not to give up on their dreams.
Lyca and Darren will represent Team Sarah for the live semi-finals rounds and will compete against Team Bamboo’s Edray Teodoro and Juan Karlos Labajo, and Team Lea’s Darlene Vibares and Tonton Cabiles, Jr. All six contestants will compete in the live semi-finals starting next week.
