The highly prestigious award-giving body Gawad Urian has announced its full list of winners for the year 2014. The Awards Night held at the ABS-CBN Dolphy Theater, yesterday, June 17 was hosted by Kapamilya’s Ultimate hunk Piolo Pascual and Bianca Gonzalez.
The outstanding acting performance of Kapamilya actor Joel Torre in the action-thriller movie “OTJ” made him win the Best Actor Award at the Awards Night.
“Pag nakakakuha ka nito (masasabi mong) ‘I’m very proud,’” says Joel during his acceptance speech. “Pero ngayon, I’m very humbled. This is very precious.”
“OTJ,” co-produced Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment, also scored the Best Sound Award while Hannah Espia, director of the indie film “Transit,” nabbed the Best Director Award.
Meanwhile, “Ikaw Lamang” star Angel Aquino got the Best Supporting Actress Award for her movie “Ang Huling Cha-Cha ni Anita.”
The coverage for the 37th Gawad Urian Awards, will air on Saturday, June 21, in Cinema One.
