The key to a longer showbiz career is successful evolution. We have witnessed these hit transformations with our favorite singers who crossed over and became credible actresses. Who are they?

1.     Sharon Cuneta
The Megastar Sharon Cuneta remains to be one of the most successful singer-actresses in local entertainment industry. She started as 12-year-old struggling singer performing “Mr. DJ” and “Tawag Ng Pag-ibig.”
Sharon was a picture of a young teenager, daughter of then Pasay City Mayor Pablo Cuneta and Elaine Gamboa, who had impressive mass appeal.
The irony of her masa charm and her affluent upbringing made her cross over different classes.
She became the biggest hitmaker of her generation.
Her music influenced her movies with blockbuster movies like “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas,” “Pangarap Na Bituin,” and “Bituing Walang Ningning.”
Through the years, Sharon, already a respected singer, have worked hard to be a respected actress.
She won Grandslam Best Actress for “Madrasta,” her first movie with Star Cinema.
2.     Sarah Geronimo
The Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo was discovered via the singing show “Star For A Night.”
Being the first product of a reality singing search in her generation, Sarah broke new grounds when she was launched. She became the first “champion.”
She made her first single “To Love You More” which became a big hit. It was immediately followed by her biggest hit “Forever’s Not Enough.”
Because of her success as a singer, movie projects also came her way – “Filipinas, “ “Lastikman.”
However, it is her romantic comedies for Star Cinema-Viva Films that became her biggest movie hits, making her one of the blockbuster Queens – her partnerships with John Lloyd Cruz and Gerald Anderson.

3.     Toni Gonzaga
The Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga first caught the public’s attention when she starred in a softdrinks commercial.
But before being a commercial model or a host, she was initially a singer, who joined singing contests when she was much younger.

Her effective hosting, believable acting also paved the way for her singing career to flourish. Her hits include “We Belong,” “Catch Me Im In Love,” among others.
4.     Angeline Quinto
Angeline Quinto was the first “Star Power” Grand Winner. She was immediately launched to stardom with multiple hit singles, most notable is “Patuloy Ang Pangarap,” hit series “Kahit Konting Pagtingin,” and movies like “Born To Love You,” produced by Star Cinema and with Coco Martin as leading man.
5.     Jolina Magdangal
Jolina Magdangal was an “Ang TV” darling. She was then packaged as the show’s resident singers, alongside Roselle Nava, Lindsay Custodio, Jan Marini Alano.
She released hit songs like “Magkaibigang Tunay,” “Kapag Ako’y Nagmahal,” “Paper Roses,” “Chuva Choo Choo,” among others.
Her team-up with Marvin Agustin made them one of the hottest loveteams of their generation.
6.     Pops Fernandez
She is the country’s Concert Queen, but her influence also spread through her acting assignments on TV and the movies.
She topbilled the TV series “Nagmamahal Pa Rin Sa ‘Yo” and movies like Star Cinema’s “Videoke King."
