After being named as third big placer in the "Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 1," Gerald Anderson instantly became one of the hottest teen stars of his generation. He then topbilled a lot of TV projects under ABS-CBN and starred in blockbuster movies under Star Cinema.

And as the film outfit celebrates its 20th year in the industry, Gerald recalls his humble beginnings as an aspiring serious actor and how his movies under Star Cinema, given to him almost year after year, honed his acting prowess.

"Nag-start ako nung 17 ako, tapos parang every year I have a movie under Star Cinema. Sobra akong thankful, sobrang ako proud na ito 'yung first movie ko under Star Cinema na nakapasok sa Cannes at part ako ‘dun,"says Gerald referring to his critically-acclaimed film “On The Job (OTJ)” co-starring Piolo Pascual and Joel Torre.

Indeed, Gerald’s growth as an actor has been witnessed by the public, from being an Am-Boy “PBB” housemate, to Kim Chiu’s perennial loveteam in several ABS-CBN teleserye such as “Sana Maulit Muli (2007),” “My Girl (2008),” “Tayong Dalawa (2009),” and “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo (2010),”  into a more versatile actor.

Gerald and Kim’s loveteam, dubbed as Kimerald, successfully made it to the bigscreen several times with these films, “First Day High (2006),” “I’ve Fallen For You (2007),” “Paano Na Kaya (2010),” “Till My Heartaches End (2010),” and their reunion film “24/7 In Love (2012).”

He also did a series of commercially-successful rom-com films with Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo, which are “Catch Me I’m In Love (2011)” and “Won’t Last A Day Without You (2011).”

Gerald showed his maturity as an actor when he starred in Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment's “OTJ.”

"Napakalaking privilege para sa akin. Sa Star Cinema, maraming salamat for all the movies na nagawa ko po under you guys, I wish you more, more, more, more blessings and more, more, more movies to come. Happy anniversary,” expresses Gerald.

Currently, Gerald is playing Fredo in the TV remake of Mars Ravelo’s “Dyesebel” with the Multimedia Princess Anne Curtis as his leading lady.
