#thenandnow: From Pia Romero to Pia Wurtzbach

Pia Wurtzbach has earlier been known as Pia Romero, her screen name when she was first launched in the industry.
But before entering showbiz, she was first introduced as a model for a cosmetics brand.
Pia became one of the talents of Star Magic and became a cast member of the teen-oriented program, “K 2 B U,” back in 2002. She worked alongside Bea Alonzo, Shaina Magdayao and Angelene Aguilar.
She got to work in ABS-CBN’s TV sitcom, “Bora,” topbilled by The Hunks – Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Diether Ocampo, Bernard Palanca and Carlos Agassi in 2005.
Pia also appeared in films such as “Kung Ako Na Lang Sana (2003),” with Aga Muhlach and Sharon Cuneta, “All My Life (2004)” with Aga and Kristine Hermosa, and “All About Love (2006)” with John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Anne Curtis, Luis Manzano, Jason Abalos and Angelica Panganiban.

Last year, Pia joined the prestigious pageant, “Binibining Pilipinas 2013,” where she won as 1st runner-up.
Not losing hope that she will win this year, she joined the 2014 edition of the pageant. Sadly, she failed to get a crown.

Controversy arose with her "losing" because of what happened during her Q&A, which she responded to rightfully. Senator Sonny Agara, one of the judges during the pageant, asked the question in Filipino, so Pia responded in the language. She realized that there are foreigners in the panel, so she offered to translate it to English, but time was up.
