Yesterday, April 14 on DZMM, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Kim Henares reminded boxing champ Manny Pacquiao to settle his previous tax deficiency.
As of April 2014, she said that Pacman’s standing tax due is now more than P2.7 billion due to interest.
"As of December 2012, P2.1 billion. Pero may 2013, so 20% (interest) pa yan. Ngayon April, may 6.67% (interest) pa,” the Commissioner explains. “So tumatakbo na yan... So yun P2.1 billion, madaragdagan ng 26.67% (interest).”
She adds that Manny can settle his liability within a year.
Commissioner Kim recalls that last year, Manny went to the BIR’s office to discuss how he can settle his tax deficiency but now have lost communication.
Meanwhile, she reveals that BIR may not even collect any taxes on the boxing champ's recent winnings.
She further adds, "Pero kailangan i-report pa rin niya yun $20 million as part of his income.
