Ai Ai turns emotional on her birthday

Ai Ai delas Alas couldn’t help but tear up during the press conference of Star Cinema’s “Past Tense” today, Nov. 11, over what was a touching birthday surprise for her.

The Comedy Queen, who’s now 50 years old, received a bouquet of flowers, a birthday cake, and a slew of greetings from her fellow Kapamilya stars, including King of Talk Boy Abunda – her manager and “Ama.”

Salamat sa Star Cinema sa ginawa nilang napakagandang video,” she says. “Naiiyak talaga ako… tsaka natutuwa ako na ang daming bumati sa’king artista dun na sikat. (laughs)”

She adds that she was most surprised and touched by Boy’s message.

“Kasi kanina nagtawagan kami, tapos sabi niya ‘I love you,’ ganyan-ganyan…,” Ai Ai relates. “Tapos napanood ko ‘to (video), naiyak talaga ako kasi na-stress ako nung nagkasakit siya. Hindi ko lang nilalabas na stressed na stressed ako pero sobrang nag-freak out talaga ako. Ngayon, okay na okay na siya ulit kaya thank you God… Masaya kami ngayong taon.”

Ai Ai is referring to Boy’s prior hospitalization due to liver abscess.

Aside from Boy, Ai Ai also had well-wishes from Lea Salonga, Angeline Quinto, Rayver Cruz, Erik Santos, Julia Barretto, Nash Aguas, Enchong Dee, Kathryn Bernardo, Robi Domingo, Iza Calzado, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Xyriel Manabat, and Luis Manzano, Shaina Magdayao.

The veteran actress is glad that the storms in her life have ended.

Na-surpass ko lahat ng mga pangyayari sa’kin nung 2013, and I hope this 2014 will be a big plus for my life and for my career, and for my love life,” says Ai Ai, who’s dating former De La Salle University star badminton player Gerald Sibayan. “Lahat na tungkol sa life!”

Ai Ai indeed has a lot to be grateful for this 2014, as she’s been launched as the newest EDM diva of Star Music and as one of the major stars in “Past Tense.”

She was previously seen in the movies “Sisterakas,” “Ang Tanging Ina Mo” series, “BFF: Best Friends Forever,” “Volta,” and “Pinay Pie.”
