“Inalagaan niya 'yung mga anak niya, inalagaan niya kami hanggang sa mga apo niya. Malungkot [ako].”

These were the words of actor Gabby Concepcion as he pays tribute to his former mother-in-law Mrs. Elaine Cuneta who died last Wednesday due to complications brought by abdominal surgery.  

“May oras din na nakasama ko siya. Tumira din ako kasama nila. Mabait si mommy Elaine,” adds Gabby during his interview on “The Buzz” aired yesterday, November 9. “Nag-pray na ako for Mommy Elaine and I wish the family well. I extend my condolences to the Cuneta and Gamboa family.”

One of the persons who got truly affected by Mrs. Elaine’s demise was KC Concepcion, daughter of Gabby with Sharon Cuneta.

“Naiintindihan ko 'yung nararamdaman niya kasi naipaliwanag niya sa akin noong mga panahon na busy ang mommy niya at wala ako dito noon, nasa America ako, ang nag-alaga sa kanya is her lola,” he says.

To help KC cope with her grandmother’s death, Gabby reached out to his daughter and said, “Like what I was telling KC, ‘I’m sure mommy Elaine is up in heaven and she would like everybody to be happy so don’t be sad.’”

Mrs. Elaine’s burial ceremony will be held tomorrow, November 11.
