In the final episode of “Team Gonzaga” yesterday, Oct. 25, “sissums” Toni and Alex looked back on the life they had by visiting their old homes in Taytay, Rizal.
The first stop was their first “solo” house in P. Ocampo St. It held many memories, such as when their mother Pinty passed out after Toni and Alex rode the motorcycle alone; when the sisters fought at the top of the stairs; and when Toni pretended as a white lady by the window, frightening their neighbors.
The house still has Alex’s scribbles of pseudo-Japanese characters. She wanted to learn how to write in Japanese, the “Pure Love” star quips.
Toni and Alex then dropped by their former school, Taytay United Methodist Christian School, and caught up with their teachers.
The Ultimate Multimedia Star shared how she used to be bullied in school.
“Lahat ng mga kaklase ako inaaway ako,” she says. “Nag-aartista na ‘ko nun, tapos sinisigawan pa nila ako ng artistang bulok! Kasi nga, naga-artista, pero hindi naman nakikita sa TV, kasi nga, talent lang.”
Those harsh words nevertheless became Toni’s weapon in protecting herself in the competitive world of showbiz.
“Thankful ako na ginan’on nila ko kasi nung pumasok ako sa industry, sobra rin pala ‘yung bullying, sobra rin ‘yung pressure, ‘yung mga negative, yung mga bashers…,” she relates. “Kumbaga na-prepare na nila ako. Mas masasakit pa ‘yung mga narinig ko dati. Wala yan.”
For their last stop, Toni and Alex did a short tour of their other former house in Ridgemont Avenue.
