Birit Queen Klarisse De Guzman signed with Star Music earlier today, July 17.
Although she walked into Star Music’s office with elegance and poise, Klarisse’s excitement was obvious. After all, it’s been her dream to work with Star Music ever since she could remember. “Pangarap ko talaga maging part ng Star Music and ngayon na, finally, nabigyan na po ako ng chance, sobrang excited ako,” Klarisse said, a big smile all over her face. “Masayang-masaya ako sa album ko and excited akong marinig niyong lahat.”
It’s been four years since Klarisse finished as runner-up in the first season of "The Voice of the Philippines." Since then, Klarisse has been working on her music and has become a regular on "ASAP." Lately, she’s been working hard on her album with Star Music.
What songs can fans and listeners expect from the Birit Queen? “Hugot songs. Alam ko maraming makaka-relate sa ating mga listeners.” Klarisse said. While she’s aware listeners are going through different experiences, her songs have universal themes that many can relate to. In fact, not all of these songs are full-on “birit”. “Meron po akong mga songs dito na pwede mo siyang pakinggan 'pag umuulan, or nagsesenti," she related.
Now that she’s signed under Star Music, Klarisse can’t help but look forward to future projects and collaborations with the fellow label artists she looks up to. “Marami pa akong pangarap katulad ng mga concerts or mga collaborations kasama yung iba't ibang artists ng Star Music kasi halos lahat ng nasa Star Music ay talagang iniidolo ko.”
Her self-titled album will be released in August soon after the "ASAP" show in Toronto, Canada.
